Lock Boxes: Yay or Nay?

Why We Don’t Use Lock Boxes

Lock box – What are they? - A padlock-type box that can be hooked on a doorknob with your house key in it. A combination pad is used to open the box and retrieve the key.

Why Are They Used? – They are convenient. If I call another Realtor® because my client wants to see a home they have listed they can just tell me the lock box number and I can go show it. The other Realtor® doesn’t have to be there to let me in; I don’t have to stop at their office to pick up the key.

Why We DON’T Use Them – Because we WANT to be there for showings. Every showing, every time. When another Realtor wants to show your home to their client, we want to be there to answer questions, give them information and ensure that your home is left the way it was when we walked in the door. That's just how we do things.
